I am interested in guiding the mission because of the haven that community theater is to its community members. A place so special to so many deserves to be treated with passion, open-mindedness, and continuous drive for creating new experiences for the diverse population and to those like me that have found solace around the stage.
I have been around theater since I was 8 years old in a high school production of The Wiz. Since then, I have participated in a plethora of theater productions ranging from school, college, and community theater. I have worked closely with executive boards and even have assisted directed a couple of theater productions. I have worked closely with black box theaters as they have attempted to get themselves 'off the ground' from a space that was, truly, a black box theater that was shaped in a round and was sold out with roughly 30 seats.
Something I would like to see happen is new ideas for what to bring to the stage. I have always believed that theater is the pinnacle for pushing the boundaries (without harm) and inducing the conversations through art that we hesitate to have day-to-day.
