Community is more important now than ever before. Theatre is an art form that cannot succeed without everyone pitching in and creating an experience and a shared journey. I joined Showtimers at a time in my life where I needed to find my place, and it is my goal to welcome others to a place and community that has given so much to me. My life would be immeasurably changed if not for Showtimers, and I want to work to make sure it is always here for anyone who needs it.
I have served on the board of Showtimers for the past two years, first as an At-Large member and currently as the Vice President. I have performed in community theatre productions for over ten years and have experience in just about every aspect of technical theatre, from lighting and sound design to directing.
I would like to expand our community influence and brand awareness, as well as provide more opportunities for our performers. There has long been a clamoring for cabaret-style performances and I think we should work to get some on the calendar, as they would be excellent community events and fundraisers.
